China

I am in a computer house on the outskirts of Beijing right now. It costs 2 RMB an hour, equivalent to about $0.25??? cents.

Flying from Detroit to Tokyo and from Tokyo to Beijing taxes heavily on a persons energy reserves.

Life in Beijing is very different from life in Michigan. China is not as clean as the U.S., wearing footwear is A MUST outside on the streets (go figure) And inside houses. The toilets here have a lower elevation than the ones in the U.S. so you have to squat over it in order to relieve strenuous abdominal pressures. There is also a peculiar scent to the restrooms, I'm sure it is detrimental to a persons health. Driving in china would be a paradise for aggressive drivers. Everything made in China is inexpensive, but imports have the same price as the ones in the U.S. Also you have to wash your own clothes her; what a pain.

I have been to the Great Wall of China, The Forbidden City, The Emperor's Summer Palace, Tienanmen Square, a mountain a few kilometers away from here, and several parks and other minor attractions in Beijing.

Climbing The Great Wall began at the bottom of a mountain and took an eternity to reach the top, to make things worse I was wearing long heavy black pants under the burning sun and carrying a heavy backpack. There was a seven year old named Charles on the trip, who I will refer to as stinky, who kept on whining and complaining about everything and slowed the entire party down, crybaby.

The Forbidden City and The Emperor's Summer Palace was a wonderful sight to behold. The Forbidden City ( has anyone seen the movie Hero starring Jet Lee and that one other girl?) was expansive. the summer palace was a beautiful place fulled with lush green trees that swayed in the wind in the gentle breeze and the buildings had been carefully crafted and the water was tranquil, but dirty, with water lilies in floating on top.

At Tienanmen Square (which happens to be the largest square in the world) we watched the national flag ceremony; a daily ritual among Beijing and hailed the national hero, Mao Zedong...

By the by,
1 USD = 8.2 RMB
Cellular phones in China go by minutes instead of a monthly fee. I burned up 1880.00RMB on a cellular phone.
The national birds in China are the fly and mosquito.
